The Scotty Cameron Newport series has perhaps been their most well-known option over the years. The Newport 2.5 mixes a bit of the Newport 2 technology with its own unique features and functions. The Special Select Newport 2.5 has a slant neck design.

The design is built to help golfers have a better view of the clubhead at setup. The bottom of your putter will no longer block your view of the ball.

The Newport 2.5 does not have an insert, which helps make it an excellent choice for those that value pure feel on every stroke. The Newport 2.5 is milled from one piece of stainless steel. As we know, the Scotty Cameron manufacturing processes are quite refined.

The interchangeable sole weights on the bottom of the Newport 2.5 will help golfers make sure they get an exact fit. With the ability to change the weight and the putter’s soft face, the Newport 2.5 is a putter that the golf purist will love.

And, once you try this Scotty Cameron putter, it will immediately impress you with the incredible forgiveness it offers thanks to the higher MOI. Provided you have been playing golf for some time and have acquired some skills.

The Select line promotes putters made of stainless steel, and there’s the aircraft-grade aluminum insert that enhances the feel and dampens vibrations delivering a very muffled but pleasing sound. You’ll get the needed feedback, and that’s what I like about it.

Since it is a mid-mallet putter featuring a teardrop shape that offers full offset due to the heel-shafted design, it promotes an arced putting stroke.

  • Arced stroke and pleasant sound and feel
  • Full shaft offset
  • Matador Midsize grip
  • Three available lengths: 33”, 34”, 35”

The tour-driven design of the Scotty Cameron Fastback 1.5 putter stands out with the small slant neck that allows clean setup at address with additional alignment lines that run in both directions, making it easier to square this putter.

This Scotty Cameron putter will help you gain more confidence to line both the ball with the center of the face and the putter on the target. This means it will suit those that feature a slight arc, or straight-back-and-through strokes.

The rounded mid-mallet design seems to be more forgiving since it is heel to toe weighted, but also, you can customize the stainless steel sole weight to match your putting traits. Plus, the 6061 aluminum sole plate and the steel shaft optimize the weight further and help golfers to obtain a more balanced feel and sound.

  • Made from 303 stainless steel
  • Mid-high toe flow
  • Mid-milled face pattern
  • Balanced and customizable sole weights
  • Precision-crafted 6061 aluminum sole plate
  • Pistolini Plus Grip

  • If you are ready to pay the hefty price tag and the design matches your putting style, it doesn’t seem to have any other flaws.

Mallet-style putters are usually of a larger size, however, the Phantom X 5.5 will surprise you with its compact, wing-backed design but high MOI so that it appeals to better players.

The alignment of this Scotty Cameron putter is another element that differs it from the rest of the putters in the Phantom X line. It features a more traditional style with the three dots on the top line which is fully visible at address.

The mid bend design of the stepless steel shaft that is aimed down the target line is intended to minimize the arc or the rotation of the face. Regarding the face of the putter, it is all made from black aluminum that delivers a softer feel with more feedback.

The open design of the rare and the raised leading edge deliver a high-pitched sound that is very revealing but a bit unnatural.

  • Wing-backed mallet with a raised leading edge
  • Compact design with traditional dot alignment
  • Solid aluminum face
  • Pistolero Plus grip
  • Three shaft length

  • High-pitched sound

If you are looking for a more forgiving option, then Phantom X 6 putter is worth considering. This putter is face balanced so golfers who have limited rotation in their strokes will find it the most suitable.

The black aluminum wraps the semi-open steel wings and continues to the crown under the head and face. The flange frame is positioned lower to the ground while the weight balance, optimized with the stepless steel mid bend shaft, allows balanced strokes.

There’s a dual alignment that will particularly appeal to those attracted to contrasting, bright colors. The three neon yellow milled dots deliver the sweet spot alignment, while the sightlines positioned on the flange provide horizontal and vertical posture guidance.

  • Dual-purpose alignment
  • Forgiving and balanced
  • Minimal face rotation
  • Three available lengths
  • 303 stainless steel and 6061 aluminum
  • Pistolero plus grip

  • Aesthetics-wise, it might not appeal to those attracted to pure looks

This Scotty Cameron putter might remind you of the Newport 2; however, this mid-mallet has a wider and much more forgiving construction, so those of you struggling to hit the sweet spot could check it out.

The Squareback features a well-balanced body with perimeter weighting and an integrated aluminum sole plate and balanced stainless steel sole weights. The precision milled mid-face is very responsive, so you know when your stroke has been a mishit.

  • Larger sweet spot and more forgiveness
  • Customizable sole weights
  • Mid toe flow
  • Three shaft lengths with matching head weights
  • Full shaft offset
  • Pistolini Plus offset

Even though now this putter has been renamed and categorized in the Phantom X lines, the Scotty Cameron Futura 7M putter was Scotty’s hot thing back in 2017, and it is still one of those mallet-style putters that boast premium craftsmanship for a lower price range.

The Scotty Cameron Futura 7M putter is made from the well-known multi material blend of dark 6061 aircraft aluminum seen in the face and the sole and a stainless steel body. The aluminum face is milled and delivers a nice soft feel and reliable sound feedback.

The visual alignment is quite subtle in this putter, as well. There are a dark central line and white lines on either side of the flange to help you aim better to the target. The contrasting color on the face of the putter can help you with your setup at address based on how much black of the face you could see over the light steel top line.

  • Increased MOI for more forgiveness
  • 303 stainless steel wings
  • 6061 aircraft aluminum face sole
  • Three lengths options
  • Full shaft offset
  • Black Matador grip

About the Current Offer

Scotty Cameron putters belong to two lines: Special Select and Phantom X.

The Scotty Cameron putters that belong to the Special Select line offer sleek and classic shapes that tour-players prefer. Their main feature is the customizable sole weighting ( stainless steel for the mid-mallets and tungsten for the blades) that adds to the feel, and each is made from solid stainless steel.

Design-wise, the Phantom X putter line has been the most advanced, boasting high-tech, compact Mallet-style putters with emphasized sharp, alignment angles. These are next level, precision-milled putters that provide optimal weight distribution for maximum feel and forgiveness.

With multiple shafts bends options and solid putter face technology, you can easily customize your putter to match your style.

What’s the purpose of the different length shafts in all Scotty Cameron putters?

The difference in the length of the shaft directly influences the variability of the sole weight, so that swing weight consistency is ensured.

If you choose a 35-inch shaft, it implies that there are 10g weight in the head, the 34-inch shaft has 15g weight in the head, and the 33-inch shaft needs 20g head weight.

What performance should I expect from the different hosel styles?

The three hosel styles that determine the “toe flow” are commonly known as face/head balance. The Low-Bend is supposed to deliver the most toe hang. However, I don’t think that it will have a tremendous impact on your game.

The Mid-Bend will appeal to those who prefer a neutral face-balanced putter, while the Straight creates just a slight toe hang.
