- Mr. Heater 4000 BTU MH4GC Golf Cart Heater
Playing a 4 to 5 hour round is typical on the golf course, but if the temperature drops drastically, that round seems to last forever. Cold golfers are usually some unhappy golfers. To fix this problem, you need a Golf cart heater that can easily be transported to the golf course, fits great in your Golf cart, is stable and secure, and most importantly, keeps the interior of the cart warm.
Buying any random Golf cart heater comes with risk. Risk of buying one that won’t keep you warm, the risk of it causing injury by falling on your lap in the cart or burning yourself getting in and out of the cart, or the risk of just buying something that doesn’t work well.
We love playing golf, but we don’t love being cold on the golf course, so we reviewed the top 5 Golf cart heaters on the market to make your decision easy. Just because the temperature drops doesn’t mean we can’t play the game we love. We just need to make a few adjustments.
The Best Golf Cart Heaters
Mr. Heater 4000 BTU MH4GC Golf Cart Heater
Best Resistance to the Elements
This golf cart heater is wind resistant, which helps if you’re golfing on a particularly blustery day. It provides 4000 BTU of energy. In a standard golf cart, which has about 150 square feet of space, this will allow your cart to stay cozy in temperatures of 30 degrees Fahrenheit and colder.
The Mr. Heater golf cart heater also comes with an automatic low oxygen shut-off system. This accessory means that, if oxygen levels in the environment drop too much, then the heater will automatically turn off, reducing the risk of fire.
The burner weighs about 7 lbs, which means it’s light and portable. You won’t have to worry about carrying around a cumbersome piece of equipment.
Texasport Sportsmate Portable Propane Heater
Budget Friendly Golf Cart Heater
The Texasport Golf cart heater is stainless steel, is durable, and made to last while keeping you warm in your golf cart.
The burner comes with a pressure regulator control valve. The valve can increase the heat of the burners up to 3 000 BTUs of energy. This means that you can be comfortable in temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Texasport Sportsmate portable propane golf cart heater comes with a plastic cup holder, with a broad and stable base. The base is known as a “paddle foot,” which allows the golf cart heater to remain stable in your vehicle. The cup holder can also hold a 16.4 oz propane fuel cylinder, which will burn for around five or six hours.
Best Turf West-RH Heater, Propane Gold/Marine with Cup Holder
Most Powerful Golf Cart Heater
This golf cart propane heater supplies up to 5000 BTUs of heat. This model will keep you warm for days where it doesn’t even seem worth it to be outside. The temperature can be changed easily with a Hi/Low button. This unit kicks off some serious heat and will heat up a golf cart with a good cover very quickly.
The Best Turf West-RH Heater propane golf heater comes with a cup holder stand and table/floor stand. It will remain stable in your golf cart, no matter what you run over while searching for your ball. The open face makes this look a little dangerous, but when you put this in the cup holder in your cart, it is very sturdy and kicks of a lot of heat.
The burner weighs only 2.4 lbs. Not only does this make it easy to transport, but it also makes it easy swap out from golf cart to golf cart. If you are playing golf in very cold weather, and you have a propane tank in your golf cart, you know there can be some potential danger of the cart heater falling over. We didn’t feel that way with the Best Turf West propane golf cart heater. This does the job well and will keep you nice and warm in between shots.
3G Portable Propane Heater for Golf Carts
This burner, using only one 16 oz propane cylinder of fuel, lasts up to 7 hours. Since your average golf game lasts about four hours, this is enough for almost two rounds!
This golf cart heater emits up to 3,000 BTUs of energy. The 3g portable golf cart propane heater has a ceramic heating element, an excellent insulating material that will keep your vehicle warm.
The heating unit is attached to a regulator made out of stainless steel and a safety grid. This ensures that no accidents or burns occur. The bonus of an automatic shut-off valve further protects against your vehicle accidentally catching fire.
It comes with a how-to video and instructions. They are specific clear and can give you valuable maintenance information so that you can avoid any issues with your burner.
3G Universal Golf Cart Heater 12v Electric
Most Fuel Efficient Golf Cart Heater
The universal golf cart heater by 3G is rather compact. It’s 12 inches long, 8 inches wide, and only 6 inches high. When it comes to current consumption, it needs 25A, and when it comes to power consumption, it needs 300W. Voltage is 12V DC, and it comes with a 12-gauge 14 feet long cable.
I have to admit that this product seemed promising because it looks and fits nicely into my golf cart. However, when I tested it, it puts out very little to no heat. I tested it during around 30-40 degrees’ weather, and it didn’t even begin to warm up my golf cart. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this product as one we would choose as one of our top rated golf cart heaters.
- 12 inches wide, 8 inches long and 6 inches high golf cart heater
- 25 A current consumption, and 300W power consumption
- 12V DC voltage
- A rather compact design
- Suitable for enclosed golf cart spaces
- Mid-average price point
- Doesn’t heat well

Why Make the Investment in A Golf Cart Heater?
If you want to take advantage of the golf course, even on colder days, then investing in a golf cart heater is a great idea. As long as you have an enclosed space and a good cart cover, you’ll be able to keep the interior warm and cozy. They come with temperature controls that make choosing the right temperature easy and effective. This paired with a Bionic Golf Glove will also help keep your hands warm so that your game isn’t affected in any way.
Golf cart heaters are small in size which makes them easy to install and, in the case of propane heaters, easy to carry around. They also come with many safety features to make sure that you can stay warm and not worry about anything catching fire in your Golf cart. When you are equipped for colder temperatures, you get to play the game you love more times throughout the year. If you live on the East Coast and are able to sneak in a few rounds in January and February, you will likely be a little more tolerable to your family and friends.
Making the Right Choice
There are two types of golf cart heaters: electric and propane. To figure out which one works best for you, consider these factors:
- What’s the price?
- How much does it cost to use?
- How easy is it to install?
- Is it compatible with your golf cart?
Propane heaters tend to be very light, which means that transporting them is not an issue. Since propane heaters don’t need to be permanently installed into your vehicle, you can take them anywhere. Now, if you have an enclosed golf cart, you don’t need to worry about the dangers of propane fuel. As long as there’s a way to ventilate, you can safely use a propane heater in a closed space. You won’t be able to use one of these Golf cart heaters if you walk the course or use a Cart, Push style.
The main issue with a propane heater is that you need to replace the fuel supply regularly. One sixteen-ounce can of fuel lasts for about five or six hours and, while propane is not inherently expensive, the cost can add up over time.
Electric heaters, on the other hand, are more cost-efficient in the long term. Electrical heaters connect directly to your golf cart’s battery and don’t require constant “refueling. Also, if you’re dealing with weather that simply can’t make up its mind, electric heaters have adaptable temperature controls.
Electric heaters also come with a fair share of drawbacks. Electric heaters are more expensive at the outset and need to be installed permanently into your golf cart. That alone makes them less portable than propane heaters. It also risks draining your golf cart’s battery and leaving you stranded in a windstorm!
This drawback has a solution, though. Simply make sure that your heater comes with an automatic shut-down function, and you’ll be safe from any weather-related disasters.
Golf cart heaters, as convenient as they are, pose specific safety hazards. When considering which heater to buy, you need to compare safety features and see which ones fit you and your vehicle. Here are some safety features to look out for:
- Hooks: If you don’t have a cup holder or cup holder adapter to store your heater in, then a hook is a good alternative. It’s also helpful if you prefer your golf heater to be higher than your dashboard.
- Automatic Shut-Off Function: For propane heaters, if the unit falls over, then this function will immediately cut the fuel supply. For electric heaters, this will come in handy if your heater is draining your golf cart’s battery too much.
- Anti-Bump: This is more for propane heaters that are not fully integrated into the vehicle. If you’re driving over uneven or bumpy terrain, then you can avoid any accidents with your heater falling over.
- Low-oxygen detector: If the level of oxygen in the area drops too low, then this feature will cut off the fuel supply. If the space inside your golf cart is enclosed, this feature helps avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Cup Holder Adapters: This feature allows you to manipulate the heater hands-free. It keeps your heater upright and in place. Point it in the desired direction and go about your game.
- Pressure Regulator: Having this safety feature helps to control the pressure in the heater if you are playing in altitude.
We hope you enjoyed this information and were able to purchase a great golf cart heater for the colder months. Don’t worry, it won’t impact your Golf bag cooler and your favorite drink. These heaters are warm, but not that warm.
