Distance is the name of the game for women golfers. If you want to score lower, you need to get the ball closer to the hole, a bit faster. This is what makes choosing the right driver for a female golfer so important. If you choose the right driver, the rest of your game can change as things will seem more enjoyable, and lower scores will be more attainable.
There are many drivers on the market for women, but not all of these are great clubs. We have reviewed and hit all of the top women’s drivers in 2022, and these are the options that have made our list. Each of these drivers has distance, and forgiveness capabilities are specifically built with the female player in mind.
Best for Distance
Best Drivers For Women
Callaway Women’s Mavrik Max Driver
The Callaway Women’s Mavrik Max Driver is a top of the line newer release from Callaway. Everything about this club is built to increase distance and forgiveness for the female golfer. The Mavrik line was developed with three different drivers as part of it. The Mavrik Max is the most forgiving of the three.
The driver has the Jailbreak and Flash Face technology that we have learned to love from Callaway. The club is capable of producing very long distances and plenty of forgiveness. Each shot that you hit with the Mavrik feels as though it jumps off the clubface.
In addition, this driver is highly adjustable. We love that female golfers can change the weights and the settings of the club to work specifically for their golf game. If you are a female golfer who has not updated their driver in the last three to four years, the Mavrik golf driver will change the way you play the game.
- Very high launching and forgiving
- Created with Artificial Intelligence to perfect center of gravity placement
- Adjustable so the club will feel like a custom fit each time
- The sound the driver makes is a bit loud, but more golfers get used to it quickly
TaylorMade SiM 2 Max Driver
The TaylorMade SIM 2 Max Driver features a brand new head shape that the world of golf has not yet seen. TaylorMade calls this their forged ring construction, and it is made with carbon and aluminum. The idea behind the new club head shape was to make it easier for players to swing the club a bit faster.
In addition, the SIM 2 Max driver features the SIM Inertial Generator, which gives golfers more ball speed. Overall the SIM 2 Max Driver is the club to go to if you simply want speed. TaylorMade is always on a mission to be the creator of the fastest and longest golf clubs on the market.
With the addition of the SIM 2 Max to the lineup, they have succeeded yet again in making it easier to get distance on the course. The Speed Injected Twist Face technology also helps if you happen to miss the center of the clubface on one of your drives. You should still be able to get plenty of distance even with the slight miss hit.
- Forgiving and long driver
- New aerodynamic capabilities to get higher ball speeds
- Premium women’s golf shaft for better transfer of energy
- High priced driver
Cobra Golf- Ladies King RADSPEED XD Driver
Cobra Golf wasn’t going to let Callaway and Mavrik come out with an impressive new release without putting out an option of their own. The new Radspeed XD Driver is one of the most technologically advanced clubs that Cobra has ever put out.
One of the most significant changes with the Radspeed XD is the Radial Weighing Technology. With this new technology, the center of gravity has been strategically placed to make the driver higher performing for the female player. The speed, forgiveness, and flight direction are optimized on the new Radspeed.
In addition, you will notice that the Cobra RadSpeed still has the adjustability that the Cobra drivers have given women in the last few years. The adjustability helps to make it easier to get the proper ball flight and ball speed and essentially feels like a custom-fitted golf club.
- Thin carbon crown
- Lighter clubhead for more ball speed
- Optimized center of gravity for increased forgiveness
- An extreme draw may not work well for players that already draw the ball
Cobra King F9 Speedback Driver
The Cobra F9 Speedback is not the latest release from Cobra, but it is one of the fastest and longest clubs that Cobra has ever designed for women. We love the Aerodynamic Clubhead that helps golfers with a slower swing add more speed.
Potentially the best part about the Cobra F9 Speedback is the adjustability. The ability to move weights and change loft is such an essential benefit of a driver. Many Golf drivers for women are made with high lofts. Although lofts are good for forgiveness, they are not always the best for distance. With the Cobra F9 Speedback, you can adjust the loft back down so that you get some extra distance.
The Cobra King F9 Speedback Driver has a low center of gravity and what Cobra refers to as Dual Roll technology. The Dual Roll lets you get lots of spin even when the ball lands in the fairway. A combination of high launch while still getting roll is an excellent benefit in distance drivers. We reviewed the Cobra King F8 driver last year.
- High ball speed
- Great for slower swing players
- Priced fairly
- Not quite as long as the new Speedzone
Callaway Rogue Driver
Callaway has been a favorite option for women golfers for a very long time. They have always made golf clubs that are easy to get up in the air. With the slower swing speeds of some female players, getting a ball up in the air can be difficult. That is why you see some women’s drivers with more than fifteen degrees of loft.
Luckily the Callaway Rogue Driver is offered right around 12 degrees, which seems to be a perfect medium for the female player. The Jailbreak technology in the Rogue sets it apart from other options on the market. The ball feels as though it jumps off the clubface of this driver, and it indeed does.
Callaway worked with Boeing on the driver to make it incredibly high performing. It certainly worked! You can see our Callaway Rogue Driver review here.
- High-quality lightweight shaft
- Helps golfers with slower swing speeds
- Forgiving club head
- The sound is not as good as the new Mavrik
Cobra F Max Women’s Driver
Unfortunately, for senior women golfers, there are not as many choices as there are for senior male golfers. When women age, they have to look for more lightweight golf clubs. There is no senior women’s shaft like there is a men’s senior shaft, but there are still some good choices.
The Cobra F Max is an offset design that will help fight against a slice and provide very accurate drives off the tee. Everything about the F Max is lightweight, the grip, the club head, and the shaft. This will also golfers to gain some extra ball speed even if they are feeling a loss of control in their game.
The F Max has crown alignment technology that helps golfers make sure they are appropriately set up to hit their target. Overall this is a very fairly priced and high performing club for the senior woman golfer.
- Great driver for slower swing speed
- Offset to help against a slice
- Not ideal for a faster swinging player
TaylorMade M6 Driver
For golfers that want distance, the TaylorMade M6 is a great club to consider. The M6 has some of the best ball speeds in the game of golf. TaylorMade makes sure that they inject each club face with resin to make sure that it is as close to the legal limit as possible. There are not too many club faces on the market that is as hot as the M6 driver.
The M6 also has Twist Face Technology. The Twist Face helps golfers get more forgiveness where they need it the most. TaylorMade has done lots of research about where women golfers are most likely to miss on the face of their club. They take this data and make the face thicker and thinner in certain areas to promote better loft and better distance even on a miss-hit.
The M6 is not the newest club from TaylorMade, so you can pick one up for a great price at this point. This driver will undoubtedly earn a spot in your bag for years to come and is certainly one of the best drivers for female golfers to carry.
- Twist Face technology
- Lots of ball speed
- High performing golf shaft
- New SIM Max has a slightly larger sweet spot
Powerbilt TPS Blackout
There is no question that drivers in golf are expensive. Sometimes adding a new club to the bag can cost over $500. For golfers that play a few times a year, this is not always a great choice to consider. Luckily companies like Powerbilt make clubs that are both high performing and affordable.
The Powerbilt TPS Blackout Driver is offered at a fraction of the cost of other golf clubs on the market. You will get a very traditional shaped club with lots of performance and speed. This driver comes at a standard 12 degrees of loft, and it has a very large and forgiving sweet spot.
The one downside you will sometimes find to an off-brand driver is the feel at impact may not be as good. If you are playing with an older driver that lacks forgiveness or distance, the Powerbilt is a smart and affordable upgrade to consider.
- Very low price
- Traditional shape
- Great for slow swing speeds
- Feel is not as good
The Best Women’s Driver is…
Callaway Mavrik Max
Although all of the drivers on our list will be a good choice for the female player, the Callaway Mavrik Max tends to be the highest performing. With the Mavrik Max, players can get plenty of distance, forgiveness, and launch. Having the adjustability in the clubhead makes this more of a custom fit club for the female golfers. Overall when you swing with the Mavrik Max, you will notice an immediate difference in the way the ball jumps off the clubface. This increased jump helps tremendously when it comes to overall performance and distance.

Now that you have some great choices for a new golf driver, it’s time to narrow down which one will be best for your game. There are a few things that women should consider before they decide on the best driver for their game.
What Loft Driver Should A Woman Use?
Many women’s golf drivers are made with twelve to fifteen degrees of loft. The women’s drivers are higher lofted because, with a slow swing speed, it is hard to get the golf ball in the air. The twelve to fifteen degrees is the right amount of loft in a driver unless a woman golfer has a faster swing speed.
Fast swing speed women are going to lose distance if they play with a driver with this much loft. Faster swinging women golfers should consider a loft of about 10.5 degrees. If you have an adjustable driver, this is even better for making sure that your driver is like a custom-fitted club for you.
Are Standard Length Drivers What Women Should Use?
If a female golfer is between 5’2″ and 5’7″, then a standard women’s driver is going to be the proper length. However, for taller women, sometimes a men’s senior golf club can be a better choice. The men’s senior driver will be built for golfers 5’7″ to 6’0″, and the flex in the shaft will be very similar to a women’s driver.
If you play with a driver that is not the right size for your height, you will have a hard time releasing the ball and hitting quality shots. Most golfers that play with a club that is too long for them can’t release the ball and hit it straight. If you are a shorter female golfer, look for a driver offered in a petite size.
How Important Is Adjustability In A Driver for Women?
Adjustability is something that can scare people that are not in tune with the latest breakthroughs and technologies in golf clubs. There is no reason to be afraid of adjustability; in fact, you should embrace what it can do for your golf game.
If you are a player that is transitioning from a higher handicap to a lower handicap or from middle-aged to senior, the adjustable drivers can grow with you. As your game improves, you can simply adjust your driver to work for your game as it changes.
Part of the reason the F9 stands out as the best golf drivers for the female player is that you can use the Cobra Connect technology to check on your performance. After each round, you can check your app and see how your results have been affected by the way you adjust your driver.
